A 20-year-old man who is accused of stealing a woman’s vehicle at gunpoint was remanded to prison yesterday.

Antonio Paul stood before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt, charged with armed robbery in connection with an incident that occurred on January 26.

Paul is accused of using a handgun to rob Obiecheryl Bowe of her 2012 red Nissan Note, valued at $5,500.

Police also said the 20-year-old dishonestly received a stolen iPhone sometime between January 26 and February 1.

At court, the 20-year-old was not required to enter a plea to the offences and the matter was adjourned to July 24 for service of a voluntary bill of indictment.

Bail was also denied. However, he has a right to apply to the Supreme Court for bail.

Also appearing in court was 21-year-old Michael Deveaux, who was charged with shop breaking.

Police allege that the accused broke into Anchorage Seafood on Arawak Cay with intent to commit a felony sometime between November and February.

Deveaux denied the allegations telling the court: “I lost my job for something I didn’t do.”

As a result, the matter was adjourned to April 25 for trial. Bail was also granted to Deveaux at $3,500 with one surety.
