THE Ministry of Health has not given any approval for a Dexta Daps concert to be held this weekend, Office of the Prime Minister Director of Communications Latrae Rahming said yesterday.

“The Ministry of Health had asked the organiser to resubmit(an application), for a proposal to be reviewed today (Monday),” Mr Rahming said. “The Ministry of Health has reviewed that proposal and has indicated to the organisers that due to the Health Services Rules that underscores an embargo on large events from happening and the potential for the event to be a super spreader and the lack of satisfaction that the country is out of the fourth wave, that it cannot approve it at this time.”

His comments came during an appearance on Beyond the Headlines with Shenique Miller last night.

This comes after a promoter of the reggae concert said publicly yesterday that the event was “still on”, adding that organisers had submitted a request for approval.

“What is with the new protocols and how events (go), basically you put in your approval and the ministry gives you approval the week of due to the fact that everything has to be in compliance with the event,” the promoter said in a video uploaded to social media.

“Testing has to be put in place. Vaccination cards, vaccination, proper persons administering these tests. All these things have to be approved.... It’s a seven-page application actually you have to complete — how much persons gonna be there, how many employees. All these things you have to put in those applications.”

The event promoter billed the concert as a potential “major economy booster for The Bahamas,” saying people were coming from Canada and the US for the event.

The event was scheduled to take place at the carnival grounds at the National Stadium this Friday.

Under current health rules, events can only take place with a maximum of 30 people outdoors and 20 people indoors.

Organisers of events must seek approval from the Ministry of Health and Wellness, according to the Health Service Rules.

One of the very first major events coming out of the Covid pandemic should be a national day of prayer and worship. Give thanks and prayers for being delivered from this evil wickedness. Make it a national event where every settlement in The Bahamad will hold prayer services on their parks. Here in Nassau numerous locations can be used including the Stadium, the fort, R M Bailey park etc. there should be a simulcast of the event and everyone in attendance or watching via electronic media should have olive oil present that will be blessed and prayer over before a national anointing takes place.

UK stopped using covid passes for public gatherings so I guess our scientists are smarter. Even The Brits stopped using hospitals filled and overwhelmed scarecrow. The Bahamas is not a place. We are unique in controlling inventing and defying medical scientific logic. Seems we are holding onto the fear program Minnisitis BS that was scrapped globally in the face of new evolving science. Next year they will be saying the same excuse to control, out of abundant caution, or simple stupidity.

Is this a reply of the carnival fiasco?

NY to lift indoor masking on Thursday. The Bahamas us the land that time forgot. Yes. Expect King Kong and Godzilla to be lurking somewhere to eat someone. Another photo has emerged of The UK Boris Johnson with a maskless croud and an open bottle of orange top foil champagne. But the problem is not the party. The problem is he declared a lockdown and mask wearing for his 68 million people as the world followed him. Pandemic is evolving in the EU as they want more nations and proper science and protocols to be in place to declare global pandemic. As the world is pushing against the notion of child vaccination and Vax only to help those over 60 with comobidities we are still slaving to maintain jabs for healthy young persons. There must be a horse in this race for bank loans.
