A 21-YEAR-OLD who fraudulently obtained money from a local bank last year after depositing a forged cheque pleaded guilty to the offence in Magistrates Court Friday.

D’Angelo Devon stood before Magistrate Algernon Allen Jr charged with one count each of possession of a forged document, uttering a forged document and fraud by false pretences.

Police said the accused was found with a forged SSB bank cheque drawn from the account of April Hubal last October and uttered the cheque the same day.

On November 17 — almost a month later — the accused withdrew $900 from the Bank of Nova Scotia by means of false pretences.

During Friday’s arraignment, Devon admitted the offences.

However, after accepting his guilty pleas, the magistrate deferred his sentencing.
