Johnson posts two double doubles

CHRISTOPHER Johnson has emerged as an offensive leader for the Community College of Baltimore County Catonsville Cardinals.

Johnson had a career best scoring outing for the second consecutive game with 31 points and 12 rebounds in an 82-76 win over Garrett College on January 21.

The 6’3” guard shot 14-19 from the field en route to surpassing the 20-point barrier for the sixth time this season. It was also his fifth double double of the season.

Johnson began the week with 22 points and 13 rebounds in an 82-73 win over Lackawanna College on January 15.

Johnson currently leads the Cardinals in rebounding at 8.1 boards per game, including 2.3 on the offensive end. He is also second on the team in scoring at 15.2 points per game.

In his first start, Johnson made his Cardinals debut and finished with 13 points and eight rebounds in a 75-64 win over Bryant and Stratton College.

Johnson posted his first double double with 20 points and 10 rebounds in a 93-73 loss to Louisburg College on November 7.

He also had 23 points and 11 rebounds in an 85-75 loss to College of Southern Maryland, and 12 points with 11 rebounds in a 75-66 loss to Chesapeake College.

Johnson spent his true freshman season with the Seward Community College Saints where he made just nine appearances and averaged 1.6 points per game.

The former St George’s Jaguars alumni was also a member of the Bahamas junior national team that claimed the 2016 Caribbean Basketball Confederation U-16 Championships.
