Freeport man on murder charge

A FREEPORT man was charged with murder in the local magistrate’s court yesterday.

Rosceno Cox, 22, appeared before Magistrate Charlton Smith.

It is alleged that on June 29 at Freeport, the accused intentionally caused the death of Ted Cooper, Jr.

According to reports, Cooper was at a bar on McKenzie Street.

Cox was not represented by counsel. He was not required to enter a plea to the charge of murder.

He was remanded to The Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until August 22.

Cox was also charged with two counts of causing harm. It is alleged that on the same date and place, he caused harm to two other men.

He pleaded not guilty to the charges and was granted $4,000 bail with one surety. This matter was also adjourned to August 22.
