A MAN was granted $1,000 bail yesterday for allegedly stealing $80 worth of ladies underwear from a store on Robinson Road.

Leon Altia, 56, appeared before Magistrate Algernon Allen Jr on charges of stealing and receiving.

On July 11 Altia was reportedly found with nine pairs of ladies underwear believed to have been stolen from the “Mama & Gege” store.

The defendant pleaded not guilty to both charges.

With there being no objections to bail it was granted to the accused at $1,000 with one surety.

Altia’s trial is slated to begin on August 22.
