Three arrested after housebreaking incidents

THREE men were arrested in connection with two separate housebreaking incidents, one in New Providence, the other in Eleuthera, where stolen goods with a combined worth of $34,000 were recovered by police.

In the first incident, two men were taken into police custody after they were found in possession of stolen property valued at $18,000.

Reports are that officers of the Cable Beach Police Station arrested two men on Friday after receiving a housebreaking report made the same day.

Preliminary reports indicate that the suspects broke into a vacation home located in the Sea Beach Estates area where they stole an assortment of jewellery and electronic items.

Acting on information, Cable Beach officers proceeded to Montel Heights where they arrested a 32-year-old male after he was found in possession of a pair of apple air pods and diamond rings that were reportedly stolen.

Further intelligence led officers to a home at Millers Close, off Market Street where a second suspect, aged 30 years, was arrested after being found in possession of iPads, iPhones, MacBooks, and jewellery, all of which were reportedly stolen from the vacation home.

In another incident, Eleuthera police are questioning an 18-year-old male of Harbour Island in connection with a spate of housebreakings on the island.

The incidents reportedly took place on Sunday, July 10, at Whale Point, Eleuthera.

According to reports officers arrested the suspect on Thursday, July 14, on Harbour Island.

Acting on information officers went to Caribe Cay, east of Three Islands, where the stolen goods, including a refrigerator, an air-conditioning unit, weed-whacker, television, dehumidifier, blender, fishing rod, assorted tools, cordless drill sets, and communication equipment, were recovered in an abandoned building.

Collectively the stolen property have an estimated value of $16,000.

Active police investigations continue.

Police reminded members of the public who purchase stolen items, that when caught they will be prosecuted.
