A MAN was placed on a conditional discharge yesterday after admitting to using obscene language against a police officer and resisting arrest.

Keiton Bowleg, 28, appeared before Senior Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans on charges of disorderly behaviour, obscene language and resisting arrest.

According to a police report at around 2.20am on July 18 on Plantol Street, Bowleg is said to have behaved in a disorderly manner. On the same day and place the accused is said to have used obscene language to the annoyance of Police Constable 3893 Miller and later resisted arrest.

While Bowleg pleaded not guilty to the disorderly behaviour charge, he pleaded guilty to the remaining two offences.

In view of this, the magistrate placed the accused on a conditional discharge and ordered him to write and deliver a letter of apology to PC Miller.

Bowleg is then expected to return to court for mention on July 27 with a signed copy of the letter to confirm its receipt.
