TWO men were sentenced to three months in prison in a Magistrate’s Court yesterday for receiving $143 worth of alcoholic beverages.

Cyrus and Keno Knowles appeared before Senior Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans on a charge of receiving.

On July 17 in New Providence, the pair reportedly dishonestly received a $43 bottle of Grey Goose and $100 bottle of Don Julio with both of these alcoholic beverages rightfully belonging to Meka McWeeny.

In court, both accused pleaded guilty to the charge. While the magistrate accepted their guilty plea and initially sentenced them to eight months for the charge this sentence was eventually reduced. As such, the accused were both sentenced to three months at the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.
