A MAN was remanded in Magistrate’s Court yesterday after being accused of trying to kill another man with a gun.

Marvin Williams, 22, stood before Senior Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans on a charge of attempted murder. He was also charged with possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.

On July 20 in Wilson Track, Williams is alleged to have attempted to kill Demetrius Saunders with a black handgun.

Due to the nature of the offence, the defendant was not required to enter a plea in court.

Williams was then informed that his case would proceed by way of Voluntary Bill of Indictment (VBI).

The accused was also told that he could apply for bail through the Supreme Court, where his trial will ultimately be held.

Until such time that bail is granted to him, Williams will be remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services (BDCS). Williams is expected to return to Magistrate’s Court for service of his VBI on October 17.
