A MAN was charged in the Magistrate’s Court for having sex with an underaged girl.
Keith Rolle, 20, stood before Assistant Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain on a charge of unlawful sexual intercourse. On April 11 Rolle was accused of having sex with a 14-year-old girl.
Because of the serious nature of the charge the accused was not required to enter a plea at this time. Rolle was informed that his case would proceed by way of a Voluntary Bill of Indictment (VBI) and that his trial would be heard in the Supreme Court. He was also denied bail.
Until bail is granted to him by the Supreme Court, Rolle will be returned to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.
He is expected to return to court for service of his VBI on September 22.
