THREE men and a woman appeared in a Magistrate’s Court yesterday charged with firearm, ammunition and drug offences.

Francisco Fraubert, 24, Leonardo Rolle, 31, Kenyatta Kinteth, 21, all represented by Attorney K Melvin Munroe, and Wildana Desinard, 29, represented by attorney Ian Cargill, appeared before Magistrate Shaka Serville.

The four accused faced three charges for possession of a firearm, ammunition and drugs.

On June 26 in New Providence the accused were reportedly found with a black 503 Columbia .9mm pistol with the serial number erased and six live rounds of ammunition. On the same day they were also accused of having 7/8 oz of Indian Hemp in their possession.

While all four accused pleaded not guilty to almost all of the charges against them, Rolle was the sole defendant who pleaded guilty to the drug charge.

Although the prosecution moved to withdraw the drug charges for the remaining accused and provide ruling on Rolle’s drug charge, such action was deferred until their bail hearing today. The prosecution submitted that they needed time to review the accuseds’ criminal records and confirm if they had any pending matters before the court.

Mr Cargill objected to this move on behalf of his client stating that Wildana Desinard is a mother who, he says, has no convictions. As such Cargill asked the court to immediately grant Desinard bail after she had already spent 48 hours in custody to which Magistrate Serville assented.

Desinard’s bail was set at $6,000 with one or two sureties.

After the intercession of Mr Munroe the court agreed to allow the male accused be remanded at Nassau Street or Central Police Station to fast track their return to court.

The defendants trial date in this matter also will be set today.
