THE Bahamas Basketball Federation will enter a partnership with Hennessy Bahamas and Commonwealth Brewery Limited (CBL).

Hennessy, the official spirit of the NBA, will become a “Gold” sponsor of the BBF to assist the organisation’s long-term goals, growth and sustainability.

“The Bahamas Basketball Federation is excited about the donation from Hennessy Bahamas,” said BBF president Eugene Horton.

“The core values our athletes bring to the basketball community are teamwork, respect and commitment to excellence. These are some of the values we share with Hennessy Bahamas. It is with the continued support of the Bahamian business community that we are able to offer the best basketball experience for our players, coaches, officials and fans.”

Hennessy brand manager, Mia Marshall, said her organisation’s sensibilities align with the country’s interest in basketball both at the local and international levels.

“This year we hope to really continue to grow our relationship and connection with Bahamians by using both the new NBA platform as well as to hopefully re-create the Hennessy artistry experience that Bahamians have come to anticipate and enjoy,” she said.

“While doing this we aim to continue fostering our relationships and impact in the community.”

In March 2021, Hennessy became the first official spirit of the NBA and now looks to focus on the development of the game and its brand in The Bahamas.

“I came to the Bahamas to celebrate how important of a country (the Bahamas) it is to our brand and the long history of us being in the Bahamas,” said Laurent Boillot, president and CEO of Hennessy.

“We share the values of the NBA but also the game of basketball. It’s about the competition, hard work and having fun with the game. The culture of NBA and basketball is important and we like to be connected not only on the court but off it as well.”
