A MAN was arraigned in Magistrate’s Court on charges of committing incest with his three-year-old daughter.
The 26-year-old father appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson Pratt on charges of incest, indecent assault and cruelty to children.
The prosecution said between February 24 and 26, the accused abused his three-year-old daughter by means of unlawful sexual intercourse.
In court, the accused was informed that he would not be required to enter a plea and that his case would proceed by means of a voluntary bill of indictment. However, he told the court that he was unaware of the charges against him.
The chief magistrate told the accused that he was denied bail and that he would be remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.
His case was adjourned to July 26.
