Seniors to take the spotlight at national schools golf tournament

THE playoff rounds in the primary division of the second annual National Schools Golf Tournament is complete.

Now, the focus will be turned on the seniors before the finals at the Bahamas Golf Federation’s Driving Range at the Baillou Hills Sporting Complex on Friday.

Yesterday, 85 players participated in the public school segment where the conditions were just as windy as it was on day one for the private schools.

The low score yesterday was 40 from Zachary Christopher Joseph in the Upper Boys Primary Division.

The lower primary players competed from 50 yards on each hole. The upper primary players competed from 100 yards on each hole. The results from yesterday are as follows:

Lower Boys Primary

Team - 1st Place – Eva Hilton Primary School, 152 (+71);; 2nd Place – Claridge Primary, 196 (+115).

Individual - 1st Place – Antonio Hernandez, Eva Hilton Primary School, 41 (+14); 2nd Place – Fritzner Sylvester, Eva Hilton Primary School, 51 (+24); 3rd Place – Liam Stubbs, Sandilands Primary, 52 (+25).

Lower Girls Primary

Team - 1st Place – Eva Hilton Primary School,204 (+123).

Individual - 1st Place – Jamiah Miller, Eva Hilton Primary School 64 (+37); 2nd Place – Lenita Vickerie, Gavin Tynes Primary, 64 (+37); 3rd Place – Diana Pierre, Eva Hilton Primary School, 68 (+41).

Upper Boys Primary

Team - 1st Place – Eva Hilton Primary School, 142 (+61); 2nd Place – Claridge Primary, 182 (+101); 3rd Place – Carlton E. Francis, 207 (+126).

Individual - 1st Place – Zachary Christopher Joseph, Claridge Primary, 40 (+13); 2nd Place – Juan Wilson, Eva Hilton Primary School, 43 (+16); 3rd Place – Weston Young, C.W. Sawyer 44 (+17).

Upper Girls Primary

Team - 1st Place –Eva Hilton Primary, 154 (+73); 2nd Place - Claridge Primary, 180 (+99); 3rd Place - Carlton E. Francis, 182 (+101); 4th Place - Palmdale Primary, 191 (+110).

Individual - 1st Place – Maddisson Carroll, Sandilands Primary School, 43 (+16); 2nd Place – Aiyanna Hernandez, Eva Hilton Primary School, 46 (+19); 3rd Place – Tatum Adderley, E.P. Roberts Primary School, 47 (+20). The top 5 schools of the private and public divisions, and up to 10 individuals will make it to the finals on Friday.

The Public High School Golf Championships will be held today.

The Private High School Championships will be held on Thursday.

The Overall National School Golf Championships is set for Friday.

On Monday, more than 90 players participated in the private primary schools division.

Although the course conditions were windy, there was a low score of 30 from Harry White in the Upper Boys Primary Division.

The lower primary players competed from 50 yards on each hole.

The upper primary players competed from 100 yards on each hole. Results from the private schools division:

Team - 1st Place – Lyford Cay International School, 124 (+43); 2nd Place – The Windsor School at Old Fort, 130 (+49).

Individual - 1st Place – Luis Ortiz Von Bismarck, Lyford Cay International School, 33 (+6); 2nd Place – Maximilien Demole, The Windsor School at Old Fort, 37 (+10); 3rd Place – Aden Jones, Lyford Cay International School, 42 (+15).

Lower Girls Primary

Team - 1st Place – The Windsor School at Old Fort, 150 (+69); 2nd Place – Home School, 183 (+102).

Individual - 1st Place – Zara Greaves, The Windsor School at Old Fort 42 (+15); 2nd Place – Safari Hanna, The Meridian School 47 (+20); 3rd Place – Adrielle Goncalves, The Windsor School at Old Fort, 50 (+23).

Upper Boys Primary

Team - 1st Place – The Windsor School at Old Fort, 111 (+30); 2nd Place – Lyford Cay International School, 133 (+52); 3rd Place – St. Andrews International School, 136 (+55).

Individual

1st Place – Harry White, The Windsor School at Old Fort, 30 (+3); 2nd Place – William West, The Windsor School at Old Fort, 34 (+7); 3rd Place – Hugo Johnston, The Windsor School at Old, 39 (+12).

Upper Girls Primary

Team - 1st Place –Queen’s College, 193 (+112)

Individual - 1st Place – Haley Hall, Jordan Prince William 43 (+16); 2nd Place – Alyssa Richards, St. Thomas Moore, 44 (+17); 3rd Place – Tiar Gibson, Xavier’s Lower School, 48 (+21).
