Man accused of double murder

A MAN was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services yesterday on two counts of murder and one count of attempted murder.

Derico “Sparky” Bowe, 28, stood before Magistrate Kendra Kelly on the charges of murder and attempted murder.

On May 4 in New Providence Bowe is accused of murdering Andrew Mackey and attempting to murder Dentry Williams.

Also, in New Providence on April 30 the accused is alleged to have killed Arison Pratt.

Due to the nature of the offences, Bowe was not required to enter a plea in court and was informed that his case would proceed by way of Voluntary Bill of Indictment.

While the accused was denied bail, the magistrate told him of his right to apply for bail through the Supreme Court. Until it is granted to him, Bowe will be sent back to the BDCS.

Bowe’s next court appearance will be on September 2.
