GRAND Bahama police discovered a large quantity of suspected marijuana valued at $21,000 in the Freeport area.
Assistant Superintendent of Police Stephen Rolle said on Tuesday, May 10, shortly before 2pm, a team of officers from the Drug Enforcement Unit, acting on information, went to a track road located on Cantaloupe Street, Pioneers Loop.
While searching the area, officers discovered a clear plastic bag containing a grassy-like substance suspected to be marijuana.
ASP Rolle said the drugs, which weighed 12 pounds, had an estimated street value of $21,000. It was collected and taken to the Drug Enforcement Unit.
He said investigations are continuing into the matter.
