Murder suspect faces court

By PAVEL BAILEY

A MAN, charged with the murder of Enrico Deal, was remanded to prison by a Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Brenden Marcellus, 20, appeared before Senior Magistrate Samuel McKinney on a single count of murder.

On May 12 at Butler’s Way, off Carmichael Road, Marcellus is alleged to have shot and killed Deal.

Due to the grave nature of the offence the accused was not required to enter a plea in court yesterday. He was informed that his case would proceed by way of a Voluntary Bill of Indictment (VBI).

Marcellus was further informed that his case will be heard before the Supreme Court and that he could make an official bail application there.

Until bail is granted to him, he will be sent back to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.

His VBI is expected to be served in court on August 3.
