A GRANDFATHER was granted bail in Magistrate’s Court yesterday after being accused of touching his granddaughter’s buttocks on two occasions this year.
The 46-year-old defendant, whose name is being withheld to protect the identity of the complainant, faced Senior Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans on two counts of indecent assault.
On June 17 and October 19 in New Providence, it is alleged that the accused touched his 14-year-old granddaughter’s buttocks on two separate occasions when she visited him.
In court, the accused pleaded not guilty to both counts. He was granted $7,000 bail with one or two sureties.
His trial is scheduled for March 6, 2023.
