Ministry and National Sports Authority join hands for 2nd annual Fitness Fest workout

THE Ministry of Youth, Sports & Culture in partnership with the National Sports Authority is celebrating the second annual Fitness Fest workout programme.

This event takes place on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays from 6:00pm to 7:30pm at the Thomas A. Robinson National Stadium and gives persons the opportunity to begin or continue their quest for physical fitness.

Participants of the event are trained by renown fitness trainer Comby Smith, whose style of Soca and Junkanoo aerobics have made him one of the most popular trainers in the Bahamas.

The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture wisely saw fit to ensure that all participants were able to be apart of this fitness movement at no cost to themselves.

Free access to training three times a week for the entire month of November, is just the catalyst that many people needed to commence much needed fitness lifestyles.

The event, which is in its second week of operation, is already a hit capturing up to 400 participants per night.

“The idea of a national training session with upwards of 500 participants has been a lifetime goal,” Smith said.

“To see this dream actually come true is a blessing that I am most grateful for.”

He thanked the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Culture and the National Sports Authority for the opportunity.

And he looks forward to the further growth of Fitness Fest.

Persons are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity as our country works toward decreasing non communicable diseases associated with poor healthy lifestyles.
