A MAN was charged in a Magistrate’s Court yesterday with rape and 15 counts of indecent assault against a woman.
Richardson Bien-Aime, 31, faced Assistant Chief Magistrate Subusola Swain accused of having non-consensual sex with a 26-year-old woman in New Providence on November 12.
It is further alleged that between April 1 – August 31 the accused indecently assaulted the same woman on 15 separate occasions.
Because of the gravity of the offence, Bien-Aime was not required to enter a plea at this time. He was informed that his case would proceed to the Supreme Court through a Voluntary Bill of Indictment (VBI).
Bien-Aime was also told that he had the right to apply for bail in the higher court. Service of Bien- Aime’s VBI is scheduled for February 27, 2023.
