A MAN faced an attempted murder charge in Magistrate’s Court yesterday.

Perry Johnson, 20, appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt charged with the offence.

He is accused of attempting to kill Toriano Wallace on November 19.

As this charge is an indictable offence, the accused was not required to enter a plea in court. He was informed that his matter would proceed to the Supreme Court by a voluntary bill of indictment.

While the chief magistrate told the accused that he had been denied bail at this time, she also said that he had the right to apply for it in the higher court.

He was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services (BDCS). Before being taken to BDCS the accused was allowed a brief moment with his relatives who were present.
