Two accused of bar break-in

TWO men were granted $5,000 bail in Magistrate’s Court yesterday for allegedly breaking into a restaurant and bar on Carmichael Road and attempting to steal various smoking products.

Leonardo St Hiliare, 23, and Vincent Delhomme, 22, faced Senior Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans on four shared charges. These include shopbreaking, damage, attempted stealing and possession of shop breaking instruments.

They are accused of breaking into the Fun Spot Restaurant and Bar in Carmichael on September 6 by using two crowbars and a hammer.

This resulted in damage to the door frame, locks and latches valued at $1,600. The accused are also charged with attempting to steal $88.97 worth of cigarettes, cigars and vape pods from the establishment.

In court, both men pleaded not guilty to all charges.

They were granted $5,000 bail on condition they sign in at the Carmichael Road Police Station on the last Sunday of each month. They were further ordered to be fitted with ankle monitors.

Their trial is set for February 1, 2023.
