A MAN was granted $6,000 bail in Magistrate’s Court yesterday after he was charged with causing harm and escaping from the Potter’s Cay Police Station.

Peter Johnson, 46, faced Magistrate Shaka Serville on two charges.

He is accused of attacking and causing harm to Ruth Knowles on September 3 at Potter’s Cay.

On the same day, he is alleged to have escaped custody from the Potter’s Cay Station after his arrest.

After electing to continue his case in the Magistrate’s Court, Johnson pleaded not guilty to the charges.

The prosecution objected to Johnson’s bail.

However, Magistrate Serville granted the accused $6,000 bail on condition he be fitted with an electronic monitoring device.

Johnson’s trial will continue on December 12.

He is represented by attorney Ian Cargill.
