A MAN was granted $3,000 bail in Magistrate’s Court on Friday after he was accused of attacking his father with a hammer.

Kevin Dawkins, 38, faced Magistrate Algernon Allen, Jr, on charges of assault with a dangerous instrument, causing harm and damage.

On September 14 in New Providence, it is alleged that Dawkins attacked his father, David Dawkins, with a maul, injuring his father’s head and arm. It is also alleged that on the same date he also caused $49.50 worth of damage to his father’s 1990 Chevy Silverado truck.

In court, the accused pleaded not guilty to all charges.

As there were no objections, $3,000 bail with one surety was granted.

Dawkins’s case is set for trial on October 17.
