A MAN was remanded to prison after he was charged with a fatal drive-by shooting off Rosedale Street earlier this month.

The victim of the shooting had been previously charged with murder.

Acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley charged Lavardo Poitier, 30, with murder.

Levon Johnson represented Poitier.

While sitting in the back of a dark-coloured truck, Poitier allegedly shot Omar Fox as he stood outside a business establishment on Rosedale Street off Mackey Street on the night of August 4. The 40-year-old victim was pronounced dead at the scene by Emergency Medical Services.

Police report that the victim was involved in an argument with a group of men in the lead-up to the shooting.

Before his death, Fox was accused of the 2013 murder of Rodney Sila.

Poitier’s case will be moved to the Supreme Court by a voluntary bill of indictment due for service on November 14.
