A WOMAN is behind bars accused of stabbing her boyfriend in the neck during a fight last weekend.

Acting Chief Magistrate Roberto Reckley charged Shamir Dorsett, 34, with attempted murder.

Ms Dorsett reportedly fought Barry Clarke at his residence on Key West Street around 9pm on August 25. When the altercation became physical, the defendant allegedly pulled out a silver coloured knife and stabbed Mr Clarke in his neck.

The accused was told the matter would be transferred to the Supreme Court through a voluntary bill of indictment (VBI). She will be sent to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services until the higher court grants her bail.

Dorsett’s VBI is set for service on November 23.
