Suspect accused of raping woman in Shirley St home

A MAN was remanded yesterday after he was accused of sexually assaulting a woman at a residence on Shirley Street last week. 

Senior Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans charged Danis Cezalien, 30, with rape. 

Cezalien is accused of raping a 25-year-old woman at a residence on Shirley Street on November 25. The accused was reportedly known to the victim.

The accused was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services. Cezalien’s case will be transferred to the Supreme Court by a voluntary bill of indictment to be served on March 4, 2024.
