A MAN was granted bail after he was accused of touching a child’s breasts last weekend in New Providence.
Denny Fernander, 22, was charged with indecent assault before Senior Magistrate Carolyn Vogt-Evans.
He faced an additional assault charge.
Fernander is accused of touching a young girl’s breasts on Nassau Street around 7.30pm on July 9. The defendant is also alleged to have physically assaulted the minor’s sister.
While he pleaded guilty to the assault, he pleaded not guilty to the indecent assault charge.
In accepting his guilty plea, the court ordered him to pay $200 compensation to the assaulted victim. He faces a month in prison if he fails to pay.
He was granted bail at $3,000 with one or two sureties for the indecent assault charge.
Under the condition of his bail, the defendant must sign in at the Nassau Street Police Station on the last Sunday of every month.
His trial is set for October 5.
