A 37-year-old man was charged with rape after allegedly sexually assaulting a 27-year-old woman earlier this year.
Jason Ferguson appeared before Chief Magistrate Joyann Ferguson-Pratt accused of forcing a 27-year-old woman to have sex with him on January 3 in New Providence.
The Chief Magistrate informed Ferguson that his case would in the meantime proceed to the Supreme Court by way of a Voluntary Bill of Indictment (VBI). He was remanded to the Bahamas Department of Correctional Services.
The defendant’s VBI is set to be served on September 7.
