A MAN was sentenced to three months in prison after admitting to failing to charge his monitoring device while on release on a pending armed robbery charge.

Magistrate Raquel Whyms charged Charles Dorelius, 20, with eight counts of violation of bail conditions.

Between June 29 and November 6, Dorelius failed eight times to charge his monitoring device.

Dorelius pleaded guilty to the charges. While he was given the choice of paying a fine of $4,000, he elected to serve a three-month prison term as his penalty.
