A 17-YEAR-OLD girl was taken to hospital on Sunday after allegedly ingesting medication in an attempt to harm herself at Holmes Rock, Grand Bahama.
Police said officers at the Eight Mile Rock Police Station were alerted shortly after 1pm by a concerned citizen who reported that the teenager had taken a quantity of medication.
She was reportedly conscious when officers arrived.
Emergency Medical Services personnel assessed her at the scene before transporting her to hospital for treatment and further evaluation.
Police said preliminary information indicated that the teenager had become overwhelmed and depressed following a conversation with a family member before ingesting the medication.
Her condition was unknown up to press time.
Police are investigating.
