Cloy ““Danny”” Everton Spence

unknown - unknown

On the November 27th1953 at the Jubilee Hospital in Kingston a baby boy was born to Hugh Spence (deceased) and Doralee Holness, they name their son Cloy Everton Spence, but affectionately called “Danny” by all who knew him. Danny attended the William Field All Age School in Westmorland, later moving on to the All-Saints School in Kingston.
At the age of 11 he migrated to the Bahamas with his mother where he attended the A.F. Adderley High School. After he graduated he went into the construction field, first mastering in masonry then moving on to carpentry and then becoming a building contractor. At the age of nineteen he returned to Jamaica where he met and fell in love with Carmen Bartley. On May 3rd 1980 they were married and later return to the Bahamas where he lived with his family. Together they raised four sons and three daughters. His job as a parent didn’t end there. Presented with grandchild after grandchild, Danny loved and took care of them all and would babysit at any time. He always enjoyed family gatherings and never missed a chance to get in one or two or ten of his stories from back in the days.
Danny was always a hard worker and made sure he instilled that trait in all his boys teaching them all the skills at a young age making sure they learned every bit of it. After falling sick in 1995 when we all thought he wasn’t going to make it Danny show his strength by recovering fully after just three years. He was back to his old self working and supporting his family as he always did.
On the 4th December 2012 Danny woke up complaining of chest pain and was rushed to the clinic by his son Mario where the doctors their found it necessary to have him transferred to the Princess Margret Hospital for emergency treatment but the Doctors could not save him and in the early morning of the 5th of December 2012 God saw it fit to call him home.
