Funeral Service for Courtney Poitier, 99, of New Bight, Cat Island who died on June 19th 2012 will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. at Mt. Sinai Native Baptist Church, New Bight, Cat Island. Officiating will be Bishop Philemon Wilson assisted by Rev. Vernis Storr and Other Ministers. Interment will follow in the New Bight Public Cemetery.
He is survived by His loving wife of fifty eight (58) years, Bernice Poitier; Two Sons: Ortnel & Bishop Philemon Wilson; Two Daughters: Sabelitha & Elizabeth; One Sister: Brandhilda Dawkins; Three Daughters-In-Laws: Bettymae, Dorothy Poitier & Lorna Wilson; Adopted Children: Bettymae McKenzie, Sederick Wilson & Mitchell Poitier; Thirty-eight grandchildren: Bouvier, Elaine, Judith, Tanya, Shalko, Samantha & Tiffany, Brigette, Frederick, ASP Anthony Curtis, Quincy, Nicky, Alton, Anwar Poitier, Kevin, Darron, Prince, Michael Wilson, Charles Hepburn, Lee (of Boston, Massachusetts) Laurie, Sheila, Dave, Sherene, Donella, Sederick, Keith, Jacqueline, Meoshe, Avarie, Kayla, Jenson, Nicola, Shane, Sedrilee & Pedro; Nieces: Olga Wilson, Julia Munroe-Neilly, Delores & Lucita Poitier, Corean Gardiner, W/Cpl 1754 Peseretha Hicks, Branhilda Wallace-Whitfield, Brendalyn Neilly, Alma Whyms, Gracie and Jenny Dorsette, Rev. Friends may pay their last respects at East Sunrise Mortuary from noon to 6 p.m. on Friday and again on Saturday from 10 a.m. at the Church in New Bight until service time.
