Funeral Service for Thelma Hilda Strachan, 91 years of Marathon Road and formerly of Ragged Island, will be held on Saturday June 23rd, 10:00 a.m. at St. Matthew’s Anglican Church, Shirley Street. Rev’d. Fr. Crosley Walkine will officiate. Interment will follow in the Church’s cemetery.
Mrs. Strachan’s survivors include her loving and dedicated Children: Tracey W. Strachan (Lorraine), Gwen P. Reid (Idris), Edmund H. Strachan (Gloria), Mary E. Mycklewhyte (Joseph) and Milo “Keith” Strachan (Cher); Grandchildren: Sherry, Sterling, Trevor (Randy), Dr. Ian, Dwight and Terrence Strachan, Julian Reid, Nicola Reid-Simmons (Willie), Garth Strachan, Devin (Kenya), Dionisio (Stacy), Raquel (Tameko), Ahmad, Travano, Milon, Keyshawn and Keiarra Strachan and T’Shae Sherman; Great Grandchildren: Kenrick, Ariel, Judith, Trevor, Trevon, Terrance, Jr., Tariq, Joshua, David, Tristen, Isaiah Strachan, Jayvin, Kiana, Joivon and Kiajha Mycklewhyte. Sister: Louise Curling. Nephews: Edmund Moxey, Hiram & Osborne (Goose) Lockhart, Eugene Wallace, Ellis, Ed, Ricardo, Bentley and Elvis Curling. Nieces: Eliza Wallace, Carolyn Rolle, Persis Lockhart, Maureen Lesbott, Joan Culmer, Paula Wildgoose, Dr. Bonnie Franks, Donna Bosfield, Pat Goulbourne, Clarice Wood, Shirley Manuel, Sabrina Neely, Helena Beneby and Dolly Mills. Adopted Children: Sonia Johnson, Llewelyn Simons, Jennifer Williams, Mizpah Strapp, Wayde Wallace, Leroy (Stretch) Whylly, Alphonso Munroe, Jan Martin-Isaacs and Lyn Amstrong. Special Caregiver: Evelyn (Hopie) Winter. Special Friends: Blanche Cartwright, Rose King, Juanita Butler, Orinthia Nesbeth and Constance Joseph. Numerous nieces and nephews-in-laws including: LaGloria Demeritte, Viola Rahming, Zelda Pearson, Joseph Hepburn, Ricardo and Vivian Strachan, Samuel & Perry Strachan, Eula Edwards, Garett Butler and Letitia Curry. Special Friends: Blanche Cartwright, Rose King, Juanita Butler, Orinthia Nesbeth and Constance Joseph; God Children: Faycita Wallace, Edith Wilson, Patrick Maycock, Fred Bowe and Cherese King; Numerous nieces and nephews -in-law including: LaGloria Demeritte, Viola Rahming, Zelda Pearson, Joseph Hepburn, Ricardo & Vivian Strachan, Samuel & Perry Strachan, Eula Edwards and Garett Butler, the family of the late Courtney Strachan and Letitia Curry and family. Friends may pay their last respects at Bethel Brothers Morticians, Nassau Street on Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. and on Saturday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to St. Matthew’s Day Care Centre.
