Funeral service for Edith Leorna Evans, 76 yrs., a resident of #37 Miami Street & formerly of Duncan Town, Ragged Island, who died on 19th May, 2012, will be held at First Baptist Church, Market Street, on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Earle Francis, assisted by other Ministers. Interment follows in Woodlawn Gardens, Soldier Road.
Leorna is survived by one son: George Evans, five (5) daughters: Esther Bridgewater, Dorinda Walker, Ikena Desgranges, Estherleta Murray, Sheila Marshall and one adopted daughter: Rocena Carey; three (3) step-daughters: Ceceila Davis, Willamae Munnings and Margaret Forbes. She is terribly missed by twenty four (28) grandchildren including: Setyra Bethel, Jamie and Amanda Wilkinson, Dominique Dawneka and Doranda Walker, Haldane Gaitor, Ruthalisa and Vernell Rolle, Kyle, Ashley and Nathan Murray, Francis and Novalette Marshall, Diana, Gerald and Ericka Evans, Lynette Gibson , Joshnell Davis and Dion Davis, Sonny Noel, Shavade & Shaventae Evans, Javon & Jarad Goodman & Chekera Hamilton.
Numerous great grandchildren including: Leronn Manya, Sederrah Rolle, Christon Gaitor, Marissa and Maurice Forbes, Krisharr Watson Jr., Andrewnique and Demario Bain.
She is also survived by four (4) sons-in-law: Bruce Walker, Olrice Murray, Fedner Desgranges and Francis Marshall Sr.; One daughter in law: Donna Evans; two (2) sisters in laws: Marjorie and Florence Wallace; two (2) brothers in law: Dr. Joseph and David Evans; numerous nieces and nephews including: Florene and Estherlena Wallace, Celestine Cox, Jacqueline Lockhart, Dexter Armbrister, Raphael, Calvin and James Wallace; Florine Ferguson, Loretta Smith, Iretta Culmer, Dennis, Bertis, and Cleveland Wallace; nieces in law including: Felice, Martha, and Marjorie Wallace seven (7) grand nieces, six (6) grand nephews and (1) great grand niece.
A host of other relatives and friends including: Rudolph Rolle, Krisharr Watson Sr., Ella Rahming and family, Brunell Munroe and family, Deborah Sands and family, Roland Bridgewater and family, Helen Adderley and family, Willie John and family, Vernie Christie and family, Patrice and Patrico Pritchard, Audrey King and family, Andrew Stubbs, Ms. Scavella and family, Dr. Gertrude Holder and family, Mr. and Mrs. William Ewing and family, Sadie Curtis Primary School family, Miami and Homestead Street Communities, Ragged Island Community, Sandra Bridgewater, Sheryl Clarke, Sabrina Sweeting, Renal House and PMH Dialysis Staff.
Friends may pay their last respects at Demeritte's Funeral Home, Market Street, from 3-6:00 p.m. on Friday & on Saturday at the church from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
