Funeral service for Gertrude Newton, 87 yrs., a resident of Bowen Sound, Andros, will be held at St. Peter's Anglican Church, Bowen Sound, Andros, on Saturday at 10:00 a.m. Officiating will be Rev. Maria A. Roach, assisted by Rev. Ethan Ferguson. Interment follows in Bowen Sound Public Cemetery.
Cherished memories will always linger in the hearts of her four sisters: Amanda Bain, Catechist Adline Wilson, Daisy Farrington and Beatrice Davis; two brothers: Pastor Thomas and Asst. Pastor Nathaniel four sisters-in-law: Blooming, Agnes and Evangelist Madline Mackey and Catherine Hinsey; three brothers-in-law: Sidney Bain, Ernest Duncombe and Bishop Ellis Farrington; three adopted children: Tanarsha, Kenneth Anderson and James Coakley; Nieces: Beverley Kimberlyn, Patrice, Deborah, Natasha, Valencia, Anita, Minerva, Maggie Wilson, Geraline, Rozena, Carolyn, Pearline, Annamae, Betty, Sherline, Monique, Joyce, Mable, Sheila, Alice, Arlist, Lavienah, Maydell, Claudell, Bloneva, Zilpha, Sharme, Sharon, Carolyn, Shelly, Rosalie, Linda, Niyoka, Tammy, Joanne, Doris, Lexy, Georgy, Malketta, Patricia, Harriet, Brenda, Karen, Stephanie, Gwendolyn and Nurse Shantell Davis. Specail thanks to Dr. Tata and the staff of the Fresh Creek Clinic, Dr. Saunders, Nurse smith, Nurse McKenzie, Sis. Cox, the Family Surgical Ward PMH, The Family of the Progressive Liberal Party and all those who visited and prayer for her.
Friends may pay their last respects at Demeritte's Funeral Home, Market Street, from 1-6:00 p.m. on Thursday & on Friday in Andros at the church from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday.
