Funeral Service for Mrs. Vernetta Elizabeth Major-Thurston age 72 of East Street South and formerly of Mortimers Long Island, will be held at the Church of the Resurrection, Joans Height West, South Beach on Friday 28th September, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. Officiating will be Fr. Paschal Ukpeh, MSP; Msgr. Alfred Culmer and Deacon Samuel Mitchell. Interment will follow in the Old Trail Cemetery, Abundant Life Road, Nassau, Bahamas.
Left to cherish Her memories is her Son: James Rahming. Daughter: Carolyn “Geroda” Adderley. Grandchildren: Stephan Jr. and Tonya Adderley, Jamie, James Jr., Jasmine, and Jayde Rahming, and Damon Hudson. Great Grandchildren: Markita Collie and Damya Hudson. Brothers: Livingston, Daniel, and Bernard Major of South Carolina. Sister: Ruth Wallace. Son-in-law: Stephen Adderley Daughter-in-law: Antionette Rahming. Sisters-in-law: Bruanne, Annette, and Indiana Major. Brother-in-law: Clement Wallace. Nieces: Michelle Wallace, Yvette Plaklaris, Dorian and Linda Major. Nephews: Quintin, Bertram, and Jeffrey Wallace, Andrew and Brandon Major. Other relatives and friends including: Carolyn Major and Family, Janet Moss and Family, Dorothy Gilbert and Family, Angela Munnings and Family, Samuel Hunter and Family, The Rolle Family, Olen Johnson and Family, The Watson Family, Altomese Isaacs, Nora Wallace Strapp, Sara Wallace, Louis Major and Family, Pamela Rahming.
Viewing will be held in the Legacy Suite at Vaughn O. Jones Memorial Center, Mt. Royal Ave. & Talbot Street on Thursday from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday at the church in from 10:00 pm until service time.
