Funeral Service for Granwel (Granville) James Sweeting, age 83 years, of Sandilands Village Road, will be held on Saturday March 9th, 2013 at 10:00 a.m., at St. Paul’s Baptist Church, Bernard Road. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. J. Carl Rahming, Rev. George Bodie, Rev. Eulie Thompson and Pastor Jeffrey Knowles. Interment will follow in St. Paul’s Cemetery, Bernard Road.
Left to cherish his memories are his brother: Godfrey Sweeting; his five sisters: Audrey Knowles (Harry Knowles), Blanche Timothy, Joycelyn Cartwright, Margaret Sweeting and Barbara Rodgers; nephews: Tyrone, Billy, Richard, Lynden, T. J., and Valentino Sweeting, Anthony, Kevin, Raymond, Jeffrey and Maurice Knowles and Mark and Darrin Rodgers; nieces: Gloria, Marion, Gina, Sharon, Yvette and Monique Sweeting; Goldie Ranger, Shirley Knowles, Paula Bourne-Drew, Marilyn Timothy, Hazel Thompson, Sandra Brice, Rochelle Smith, Jacqueline Johnson and Keisha Bullard; numerous grand and great grand nephews and nieces; other relatives and friends including: Shad Rolle and family, Isaac Smith and family, Melvese Seymour, Iva Simon, Mitchell Pratt, Edward Major and family, Pastor David Sweeting and family, Eugene and Henry Bostwick and family, the Storr family, Viola Sweeting, Mary Armbrister and family, Diane (Kitty) Major, Dr. Eugene Gray, Sandra Rahming, the Sandilands Village Road Community especially Kermit Glinton and the Guys under the Dilly Tree who looked out for Granville, the staff of Johnson Barber Shop Yamacraw, Anita Harris of the PLP Elizabeth Estates Headquarters, the staff of the Swiss Pastry Shop and Keishelle breakfast stand Prince Charles and Rev. Dr. J. Carl Rahming and the members of St. Paul’s Baptist Church.
Friends may pay their last respects at Butlers’ Funeral Homes & Crematorium, Ernest and York Streets on Friday March 8th, 2013 from 10:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and at the church on Saturday March 9th, 2013 from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
