Funeral Service for Mrs. Alma Virginia Major, 92, of Billy Bowe’s, Long Island will be held on Saturday, April 19th 2014 at 11:00am at Cartwright’s Gospel Chapel, Cartwright’s, Long Island. Officiating will be Elder Doddridge Hunt and Dr. Rex Major. Interment will follow Chapel Cemetery, Buckley’s, Long Island.
She is survived by: three children: Valarie Hudson, Sylvia Knowles and Glenn Major; two stepchildren: Rex Major and Dale Williams; two sisters: Carmen Ritchie and Cora Gibson; one brother-in-law: Ullin Ritchie; son-in-law: Allan Knowles; ten grand children: Nate Hudson, Claudia Cartwright, Da-Niele Hudson, Felicity Knowles, Suzette Knowles, Tanya Hepburn, Crystal Cartwright, Clint Knowles, Donovan Hudson, and Allan Knowles Jr.; seven step grand children: Jewel Major, Gem Dickens, Jasmine Rodgers, Jade Bryan, Keri Taylor, Kim Riedel and Westte Williams; five grands–in-law: Sandra Hudson, Mario Cartwright, Darin Hepburn, Anastasia Knowles, and Jerome Cartwright, Sharmean Knowles; great-grand-children: Felice Knowles, Gabrielle Hudson, Antonia Hepburn, Yasmine Knowles, Alexis Cartwright, Savannah Knowles, Duran Hudson , Damon Hudson, Kellise Hudson, Brooke Knowles, Ariel Hudson , Donnaleighia Hudson, Asher Hepburn, Daniel Hudson, A.J Knowles, Sylvano Knowles and Noah Knowles; great- great- grand: D’amya Hudson; nieces: Jacqueline Turnquest, Brenda Lamb, Emerald Sands, Lois Johnson, Joyce Turnquest, Evie Simmons, Delglica Rahming, Pamela Gibson, Joan Herious, Geneva Sweeting, Cynthia Dean and Don Turnquest; nephews: Doddridge Hunt, Ulrick Fox, Gordon Wong, Vincent Turnquest, Max, Larry and Dwight Gibson; cousins: Francita Ritchie, John Wells, Alvin Turnquest, Orlando Turnquest, Whit Turnquest and Drexel Turnquest; numerous other relatives and friends including Beryl Cartwright, Jane Knowles, Remelda Constantakis, Rosena Hunt, Rita Sweeting, Dayle Williams, Jennifer Smith and the Smith’s family, Brenda Hunt and the Leaders, members and followers of the Cartwright’s Gospel Chapel and the entire community of Long Island.
Viewing will be held at the Church on Friday from 6pm-8pm and on Saturday 9:30am until service time.
