LIFE & TIMES OF JEAN CADET

On April 20, 1933 in the beautiful country side of Desaline, Haiti, Evanna and Ferdinand Cadet gave birth to a baby boy whom they named Jean Rollin. Jean received his early education in his home town of Desaline where he excelled. He later moved to Port-au-Prince Haiti where he attended college and obtained a degree as a Hyperpolyglot. He was a master of many languages, as he spoke eight (8) one of which included German. He was a very intelligent but yet soft spoken man.

After completing his college education at the age of 19, he left his home and came to The Bahamas to seek out better opportunities. Upon his arrival he obtained employment as a chainman for The Bahamas Government as a surveyor for a few years. He also worked in the hotel industry for many years until he retired to Old Bight, Cat Island.

In 1958 he met the love of his life, the lovely Eugie Cora Seymour. This couple enjoyed a long and beautiful courtship before becoming husband and wife in 1960.

Opening Hymn……………………………………...…………………….… “Glad Reunion Day”

There will be a happy meeting in heaven I know,
When we see the many loved ones we’ve known here below;
Gathered on the blessed hilltops with hearts all aglow,
That will be a glad reunion day.

Glad day, a wonderful day,
Glad day, a glorious day,
There with all the holy angels and loved ones to stay,
That will be a glad reunion day.

There within the holy city we’ll sing and rejoice,
Praising Christ the blessed Savior with heart and with voice;
Tell Him how we came to love Him and make Him our choice,
That will be a glad reunion day.

When we live a million years in that wonderful place,
Basking in the love of Jesus, beholding His face,
It will seem but just a moment of praising His grace,
That will be a glad reunion day.

Recessional Hymn…………………………………………..………………… “It’s Alright Now”

There was a time I traveled a lonely sinful road,
Beneath a heavy burden bending low,
But now all things are different, for Jesus took my load
It’s alright now, I’m His I know.

It’s alright now, for I am in my Saviour’s care
It’s alright now; my Saviour hears and answers prayer;
He’ll walk beside me, ‘til I climb the heavenly stair
And everything is alright now.

And down a lonely pathway, without a friend to guide,
I walked in sin and sorrow all alone.
‘Til Jesus came and found me, and drew me to his side,
It’s alright now, for I’m His own.

No more in sin I wander, no more in darkness roam,
The Lord has placed my feet on higher ground,
Each day new heights I’m gaining, my soul is nearing home,
It’s alright now, I’m heaven bound.

TRIBUTE FROM THOSE WHO LOVED YOU

We saw that you were getting tired the pain was on your face,
But now sleep is more comfortable because you are in a better place.
We didn’t want to say goodbye,
And our thoughts of you will never die.

In our hearts are the memories of before you went away,
You shall be missed, but we will meet again someday.
You were unique and special and this, we’ll always know,
As years roll on and days go by, wherever we may go.

We’ll pick up where we left off some day
The way we were before you went away.
But until that time we will hold no regret
Of the one we loved and will never forget.

We will always love you. Thank you for the laughter and the good times that we shared.
