Mihaly Erdeg

Memorial service for the late Mihaly Erdeg, age 83 who died on Thursday October 9th 2014 at his daughter’s home in Graham Acres, will be held at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church, Shirley Street, Nassau Bahamas on Tuesday October 21st 2014 at 3:45pm Father Calixte Jr. will officiate. His ashes will be escorted back to Canada by his son as per his wishes and scattered at sea at his point entry into Canada in Halifax Harbour next summer.

Mihaly was born in Zrenjanin, Yugoslavia, but settled in Hamilton, Ontario as a young man, eventually becoming a Canadian Citizen. He was employed at St. Joseph’s Hospital where he had a lot of colleagues and friends until his retirement in 2000.

Mihaly will be remembered for his generous attitude, ready smile and contagious laugh and most of all the love he had for his family.

He is predeceased by his parents: Mihaly and Rozalia Erdeg of Zrenjanin, Yugoslavia on September 8th 1931and sister: Rozalia Horvat.

Left to mourn: is his wife of 56 years: Theresa Erdeg; His loving Children: Mihaly Erdeg (Marsha, daughter-in-law), Alicia Erdeg and Tanya Erdeg: His adoring Granddaughters: Tonya Erdeg, Stephanie Hartt (Wayne, grandson-in-law) and Madison Erdeg Archer; Great Granddaughter: Lauren Erdeg; Sisters-in-law: Edna Chase, Ramona Gonzalez, Juanita Gonzalez, Bessie Lightbourn and Yvonne Gonzalez; Brothers-in-law: Gurth and Dakie Gonzalez; Niece: Terez Horvat; Nephew: Jozef Conti (his wife Gizell) of Olmsted, Ohio formerly of Yugoslavia; Great Niece and Nephew: Zoltan and Valentina Horvat and Piroska Erdeg of Zrenjanin, Yugoslavia; Very close Friend: Mirko Cvetas (predeceased) and his wife Betty Cvetas and their Family of Hamilton, Ontario and numerous other Relatives and Friends residing in Canada, The Bahamas, The U.S. and England. Special thanks to Dr. Nadia Gilbert, Cleveland and Linda Sawyer, Gigi Gonzalez, Lana Russell, Ricardo Gonzalez, Donna and Daniel Wells.
