A funeral service for the late Miss Lauriette Jennie Albury, age 87 of Rock Sound, Eleuthera, The Bahamas, will be held at Rock Sound Methodist Church, Rock Sound, Eleuthera, on Saturday, 10th October, 2015 at 11:00 a.m.
Reverend Audrey Rodgers will officiate and interment will follow in Rock Sound Public Cemetery, Rock Sound, Eleuthera.
Lauriette Jennie Albury was born at Rock Sound, Eleuthera, The Bahamas on February 9, 1928.
She was the third of five children born to her parents, John I. Albury and his wife, Albertha J. Albury (nee Knowles) both deceased.
Lauriette attended the Rock Sound Public School and after finishing worked at South Eleuthera Properties, a Land Development Company, for many years.
She was a life long member of the Methodist Church at Rock Sound as were her parents, her father being a Methodist local Preacher for more than fifty years. Lauriette learned to play the organ at an early age and for many years she was the organist at the church.
She died at her home at Rock Sound on Wednesday, September 23, 2015.
She was predeceased by her parents, her sister Enid Albury, her brother Harry Albury, her brothers-in-law Sylvester Cleare and Hanford Darville, C.B.E., J.P. and her nephew Steve Darville.
She is survived by her sisters Ethelyn Darville and Eleanor Cleare, nephews John and Robert Darville, great niece, Caron Watson, her husband Travis and their children, Sandra, Sean and Shannon; great nephew Jamie Darville and his wife Jessica, and many relatives and dear friends including Charlotte Albury, Karen Darville, Val Harding, Jackie Kemp, Christopher Cates, Dr. Sidney Smith, Rev. Kendris Carey, Lostin Noel (Gus), and Elouis Dormeus (John).
She was a loving and devoted sister, aunt and family member and will be greatly missed by all.
She rests in peace.
Instead of flowers the family request that donations be sent to Rock Sound Methodist Church, Rock Sound, Eleuthera, in memory of Miss Lauriette Jennie Albury.
