Funeral service for Edna Elrena Johnson Melford nee Newton, age 76 years, of Lowe Sound, Andros, will be held on Friday October 16, 2015, at 11:00a.m., at The New Mt. Freedom Fellowship Baptist Church, Lowe Sound, Andros. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. E. John Newton and Rev. Dr. Lloyd Smith assisted by Local Pastors. Interment will follow in the Public Cemetery, Lowe Sound, Andros.
Cherished memories will live on in the hearts of her brother: Rev. Dr. E. John Newton; her sister: Pastor Rudell Marshall; aunts: Vernal Rolle and Zilpha Sands; sisters-in-law: Rev. Mother Lucine, Rose, and Rosenell Newton; adopted children: Rosetta Booth, Min. Tina Rahming, Min. Christabelle Forbes, Alex Newton, A.S.P. Bruce and Cheryl Arnett, Meltina Evans, Johnny Farrington, Latoya Rolle, Sidney and Edward Marshall; adopted siblings: Hon. Darrell E., Edgar, Ezzard and Capt. Allison Rolle, Min. Almetta Culmer, Trudell Russell, Chryslee Rolle, Min. Sabrina Poitier and Rev. Norine Smith; nephews: Dennis, Nelson, Craig, Bishop Sheldon, Roland, Min. Phillip, Wenzel, Kelvin, Terrance and Cheffery Newton, Gerald and Jerry Gould, Daniel Demeritte, David Newton and Edward Rolle; nieces including: Min. Eleanor Turnquest, Marina McKie, Barbra Nixon, Deaconess Elrona Lewis, Anginette Munroe, Van Vera Marshall, Prophetess Sharnette Kemp, Pastor Valderine Knowles, Pastor Julieann Black, Prophetess Janice McKenzie, Francine Newton, June Cartwright and Ellamae Ferguson; numerous grand, great grand, nephews, nieces and cousins; and a host of other relatives and friends including: Deacon George and Dr. Nigel Johnson, Alva Brown, Rev. Filmore and Rev. Dr. Ifill Russell, the communities of Red Bays, Lowe Sound, North and Central Andros.

Friends may pay their last respects at Butlers’ Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Ernest and York Streets on Thursday October 15, 2015 from 11:00 a.m. until 4:30p.m. and at the church on Friday October 16, 2015 from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
