Malcolm Douglas Erskine

The 20th of October 1967 saw the joyous birth of Malcolm Douglas Erskine, born into the family of Robert Douglas and Norma Rosaline Vera Erskine (nee Aranha). He was the fourth and last bouncing baby boy to bless their family in Nassau.
At the age of 6, the Erskine family relocated to Australia to live on the Gold Coast for nine years. In 1982 Malcolm returned to Nassau with his parents leaving his siblings behind.
Malcolm was a graduate of Queen’s College and had two terms at the College (University) of the Bahamas studying electrical engineering. He was offered a small scholarship to continue studies abroad, but declined, and started work at Coral World carrying out underwater repairs and maintenance. He later was employed with Caribbean Management (Bahamas Realty) as a Property Manager for approximately 6 years until he moved on to build and do renovations on high end homes in Nassau. He also assisted his father through out the years performing household appliance repairs. He was a “Macgyvor” at heart, and could fix almost anything.
In 2000 right after his birthday, he met the love of his life Vanice, whom he married in 2012 shortly after starting a small water company.
Malcolm loved the sea and being on a boat. In early 2014 he moved to Casuarina Point, Abaco with his wife and mother, and spent time in Canada during 2015 until returning to Nassau in 2016.
Malcolm was passionate about his faith and love of God. Red was his favorite color, yet he never wore it. He had a sharp sense of humor and an infectious laugh whereby his whole body would giggle with delight. He was a sweet soul whose love and caring will be remembered in his generosity of helping others in any way he could.
In the early morning hours on his Sabbath of the 4th of February, 2017 he quietly snuck out of this earthly life to find peace and be with God. His soul is comforted by Jesus as he rests in peace.
