Barbara Adella Symonette-Thurston,

“Barbs” “Della” 83

of Oakes Field, who died at the Princess Margaret Hospital on Monday, October 2, 2017, will be held on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 10:00 a.m. at St. James Native Baptist Church, St. James Road. Officiating will be Rev. Dr. Charles Rolle assisted by Rev. Lexton A. C. Symonette and other ministers. Interment will follow in St. James Church’s Cemetery.

She is survived by her sons: Dr. Fabian and Corte Thurston; Daughter-in-law: Patrice Thurston; Sanchia Godet; Grand-daughters: Travalia, Samiya, Fabienne and Temperance; Stepsons: David (Valarie) and Anthony Thurston; Beloved brothers: Rev. Dr. Michael, Albert and Allan Symonette; Sisters-in-law: Veronica Symonette and Rev Hilda Symonette; Nephews: Clement and Kenneth Strachan, Deacon George (Tora) Symonette, Rev. Samuel (Stameika) Symonette, Rev. Friends may pay their last respects at Butlers’ Funeral Homes and Crematorium, Ernest and York Streets, on Friday, October 6, 2017 from 11:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and at the church on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 9:00 a.m. until service time.
