Bishop George Livingston Burns, 85
a resident of #18 Martinique Road, will be held on Friday, August 24, 2018 at The Prevailing Church of God in Christ, Deveaux Street, at 6:30 p.m.
Home going celebration will be held on Sunday, August 26, 2018 at The William Johnson Auditorium (Church of God), Joe Farrington Road at 1:30 p.m. Officiating will be The Right Reverend Tony Leroy Hanna, JP. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Gardens, Soldier Road.
Bishop Burns is survived by his loving, devoted, loyal, and committed wife of 47 years Pastor Claudette Burns; one loving daughter, Georgette Albury, one step-daughter Michelle Samuels, one adopted daughter Donna Davis, one son-in-law Kendric Albury, one sister Vernita Rolle, five sisters-in-law, 2 brothers-in law, three granddaughters: Kaliyah and Gillian Albury and Antonia Brown, one grandson: O’Neil Mitchell. Nieces: Sylvia (Joseph) Rolle, Shirley Babbs, Daphne Howard, Sheila Santigo, Pamela Smith, Marilyn (Dwight) Butler, Branelle (Fermont), Brenda (Noel), Michelle (Julius), Ingrid (Roosevelt), and Linda Smith; Edris, Geraldine and Patrice Burns, Monique Dames, Pearline Strachan and Charmaine Rolle and Ingrid Burns; Nephews: Wendall, Vernal, Michael, Glenroy, Dwayne, Kevin, Gary and Walter Smith. David (Valarie) Brown, Eugene (Hycinth) Smith, Michael, Harry,Craig Burns, Ricardo and Anthony Rolle; God son Zhion Coakley. Many grand, great grand, and great great grand nieces and nephews too numerous to mention. Other family members and friends: Elder Patrick and Sister Ann Coakley and family, Joseph and Maureen Symonette and family, Evangelist Lola Nesbitt and family, Evangelist Deloris Neymour and family, Elder Flavin Curry and other officers and members of the Prevailing Church of God in Christ. Patricia and Monique Mitchell and family, the entire Scott family, Bishop Tony Leroy Hanna and Mother Alma-Ruth Hanna and family, Bishop Roy Burrows and family, Mother Sherrie Whitfield and family, Pastor Ishmael Grant and family, Pastor Andrew and Cherylee Rolle, Superintendent Joseph Cunningham and family, Dr. Patrick Smith and family, and all of the other pastors in the COGIC family, Pastor Terrance G. Bus transportation will leave The Prevailing Church of God at 12:15 p.m. on Sunday.
Friends may pay their last respects at The Prevailing Church of God in Christ, Deveaux Street on Saturday, August 25, 2018 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. & at the
Auditorium on Sunday from 12:30 p.m. until service time.
