Capt. James Hartley Elden, 91, of The Current, Eleuthera died at his residence on Saturday 27th January, 2018. Funeral service will be held at The Current Methodist Church in The Current on Saturday 3rd February, 2018 at 11:30am. Rev. Kenris L. Carey, assisted. by Dr. Reginald W. Eldon and Rev. Henry Knowles will officiate and Interment will follow in the Public Cemetery The Current North Eleuthera.
There will be no viewing.
Hartley is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Rowena. Three children Margie (Jim) Sorley, Donnie (Patricia) Elden, Bonnie Sawyer.
Grandchildren: Pedro Pinder, Michelle (Greg) Smith, Laura (Jamie) Williams, Jaime (Chad) Till, Brain (Aimee) Sorley, Karen (Sean) Knowles.
Great-grandchildren: Enrico, Celeste, Cameron Pinder, Garrett & Kristin Smith, Samantha & Nicholas Williams, Natalie Till, Ashton & Tatum Sorley, Lilly-Grace (affectionately known as little Lilly)
Great great-grandchild: Mason Pinder.
Brother: Arthur Elden.
Sisters-in-law: Sally Elden & Sandra Elden.
Nieces: Jill Albury, Pam Weatherford, Wendy Shropshire, Stacey Elden, Helen Jordan, Sandra Cooke, Krista McKenzie, Diane & Janice Symonette, Judy (Percy) Sands, Laura Symonette.
Nephews: Michael Russell, David Elden, Charles Cooke, Reg, Geoffrey & Gary Symonette, David & Roy Hilton.
