The Funeral Service for the late Ena Lady Braynen, formally of The Current, North Eleuthera and a resident of Shirley Slope, Nassau, will be held on Saturday, 22nd September, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at The Shirley Heights Gospel Chapel, Mt. Royal Avenue, Nassau.
Dr. Sam Mikhael, Brother Billy Albury, Brother Stephen Key and Rev. Milton Lightbourne will officiate. Interment will be in Ebenezer Methodist Cemetery, East Shirley Street.
Lady Braynen died at Doctor’s Hospital on the morning of Monday, 17th September, 2018. She was a committed member of the Brethren Church and faithfully worshipped at Shirley Heights Gospel Chapel. As a young woman, Lady Braynen taught with The Ministry of Education at the All-Age School in The Current, North Eleuthera before marrying the late Sir Alvin Braynen in 1969. In her later life, she worked for many years with The M.V. Current Pride, the mail boat servicing North Eleuthera and Hatchet Bay and was a weekly fixture every Tuesday and Wednesday at the Potter’s Cay Dock.
She was predeceased by her husband, Sir Alvin Braynen, former Speaker of the House of Assembly and High Commissioner to Great Britain; her parents, William and Maude Elden; her siblings Mrs. Clarice Elden, Mr. William Reynold Eldon and Mr. James (Dubbie) Elden and her niece, Mrs. Angela Elden.
She is survived by her devoted Sister and her husband Delores and Patrick Neilly.

There will be a viewing at Commonwealth Funeral Home on Friday, 21st September, 2018, 5:30 – 7:00 p.m. and at the Church from 10:00 – 10:45 a.m. on Saturday, 22nd September, 2018.
