Funeral Service for Mrs. Althea Maxine Carey, age 92 years, of #8 Gaiety Walk, Golden Gates II, will be held on Saturday October 26th, 11:00 am, at Church of God, East Street Cathedral, Lilly of the Valley Corner. Officiating will be Bishop Charles Gardiner, assisted by Pastor Lynden C. Young and other Ministers of the Gospel. Interment will follow in Southern Cemetery, Cowpen and Spikenard Roads.
She is predeceased by her husband of 63 years, William Alfred Carey; daughter: Jacklyn Sarah Carey; granddaughter: Nanette Gibson Grey.
She leaves to mourn, cherish and celebrate her memories Daughters: Mrs. Sylvia Bain, Mrs. Elizabeth Charlton, Mrs. Alice Carey Sears, Retired Nurse Shirley Carey, Mrs. Peggy Rose, Mrs. Ruthnell Rolle ( Freeport Grand Bahama), Mrs. Hildarene Ward, Mrs. Joan Bethell and Aune Carey; Son: Prince Albert Carey; Daughter-in-law Audra Carey; Sons-in-law: Randy Charlton, James Sears, Foster Rose, Garnet Rolle, pre deceased Sherman Ward and Kenneth Bethell Sr.; Sister: Mrs. Gertrude Turner; Brother: Cyril Clyde (The Berry Islands); Sisters-in-law: Mrs. Louise Marion Taylor, Mrs. Christine Carey (Tarpum Bay, Eleuthera) and Mrs. Princess Clyde (The Berry Islands); Brothers-in-law: Paul Taylor and John Carey (Tarpum Bay, Eleuthera); Granddaughters: Mrs. Elmalene ( Brian) Ferguson, Tonia Ferguson, Deandra Saunders, Monique Sears, Mrs. Shantell (George) Greene, Mrs. Paige (Troy) Seymour, Mrs. Vernishka (Bradley) Cash, Kendra Bethell, Dishawne and Racquel Rose, Shekirah and Garnequa Rolle, Danielle Carey , all of Freeport, Mrs. Krystal (Samuel Sr.) Cleare, Shauna and Sheniqua Ward; Grandsons: Torry, Jaron and Treyvon Carey, Jermaine and James (Darren) Sears, Dennis Jr., Dwayne and Devon Sands, Gyron Rolle, D’Nez Young Sr., Kenneth Theodore Bethell Jr., Kyle Bethell, Shola Woodside and Omari Saunders. Relatives and friends may pay their respects at Cedar Crest Funeral Home and Crematorium Ltd, Robinson and Baillou Hill Roads, on Friday from 12:00 noon to 6:00 p.m., and at the church on Saturday, from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
